Otou Matsuri This famous festival of fire has a history that stretches back 1,400 years. Torches in hand, a group of some 2,000 men dressed in white robes race down a steep flight of 538 stone steps.

Setsubun-sai The Kami (deity) of TAGATAISHA represents long-life. At the festival, beans are scattered by a group of some 200 men and women over the age of 60. They wear red caps on their heads and are dressed in traditional Kamishimo.
